Alumna Published in Washington Post

Andra Gillespie '95 was recently published in the Washington Post. Her column, entitled "Obama's Job and Ours," explores the effect of the recent presidential election on the way prejudice and racism is being perceived in the nation.

Here's a link to the article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/01/16/AR2009011603870.html

Andra is an assistant professor of political science at Emory University, and her research "examines political mobilization and race, as well as competition between minority groups."

(Thanks go to John Wilkes, chair of the Social Studies Department, for sending along the link to Andra's article.)
