Please congratulate Senior Leaf Elhai for winning a GOLD MEDAL for her Mixed Media painting at the NATIONAL LEVEL of the Scholastics Art Competition!
This is an extremely rare honor (one that I had not experienced in 13 years prior to teaching at MLWGS) but Maggie Walker has now had a student win it TWO YEARS IN A ROW!!! Last year, Sarah Thrower won it for her amazing dress.
Leaf will receive her award and have her work on display in New York City in early summer. Last year's award ceremony took place at Carnegie Hall and was hosted by Academy Award winner, Kathy Bates!!!
