Alumni Awarded Fellowships in the Arts

This year, two Governor's School alumni, Joshua Bennett '07 and Andre Ponticello '03, have each been awarded the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowships for 2009-10.

This very selective and prestigious fellowship program supports Virginia's outstanding professional artists and art students by offering financial aid to pursue education or advance careers in the visual arts.

Fellowships are awarded to professional artists as well as art students who demonstrate exceptional creative ability in their chosen discipline. Applicants are required to submit samples of their current work in addition to an artist's statement.
