Chorus Students Excel At All-District Chorus Weekend

MLWGS was well-represented at this year's VMEA All-District Chorus. Freshman Alex Georgiadis, Caitlin Lane and Kristina Ravensbergen and Sophomore Lizzie Barnett placed in the top tier of over 1,000 students in District I registered who auditioned last November.

For several weeks, these students prepared rigorously learning new music for the Feb. 13-14th workshop and concert held at Hanover HS. Guest conductor Lynnel Joy Jenkins, a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at University of Arizona, traveled to Richmond to lead the District I Women's Choir, in which all four of these students placed.

Lizzie Barnett and Kristina Ravensbergen were selected by the conductor to sing solo descant parts in a Moravian mountain song, entitled Hoj, Hura Hoj, during the recorded concert! Bravissima, Ladies!
